This past year at the Sergeants Major Academy has been wonderful. Our FRG is full of very caring, giving people.
Last week, we had a soldiers’ appreciation lunch for all of the hardworking students at the Academy.
They deserved it – they’ve been plugging away at their studies for months and months now and the course is finally winding down. Everyone is heaving a great sigh of relief that it’s smooth sailing from here on out, but I’m going to be so sad to see all of my friends leave for new adventures. We’ve been planning so many get-togethers that it’s almost ridiculous. I feel like I’m doing something at least 3 times a week – and I’m really enjoying it.
The gals put on quite the spread for the lunch. There were more cupcakes and cookies than I thought could possibly be eaten (I was wrong by the way!). I loved the butterflies on these ones. If only I were so talented…
Have you ever seen this many crock pots all together in one place? I’m surprised they found enough plug-ins!!
My husband was really tired and decided to go home and take a nap instead of waiting in line. He thought that I could grab him a plate of food at the end, to take home.
He ended up showing up at the end of the lunch. By the time he got there, there were chips and cookies left. We actually had to head over to Subway for something to eat!!
I’m on a pot luck spree here too! I’ve made shrimp spread three times this week and for a squadron party on Friday I’m making both a chocolate pie AND homemade baked beans.
By the way, I’m also surprised all those Crock Pots didn’t throw a fuse/circuit! I remember going to a BBQ pot luck and we could NOT keep the Crock Pots on!
