Treasures Hiding in Slides

I know that I’m not the only one whose parents had tons of their childhood pictures developed onto slides instead of actual prints.

When was the last time pulled down the projector screen, popped a bowl of popcorn and sat down to click away on your slide projector?  That’s what I thought!

When I was home a couple of years ago, I rescued the boxes of slides from my parents’ closet.  They were languishing there.

I bought myself a cheap slide scanner and started scanning away.  It was so neat to see so many pictures that I had completely forgotten about – ones that I hadn’t seen since about 1986.

I found some treasures!  Here is a short slideshow of some of my favorite finds.  Me all powdered up on the toilet.  My brother with a giant zucchini.  My sister and I in a septic tank.  Yes, I had a strange childhood…..

Do you or your parents have boxes of slide reels in an attic somewhere?  Pull them out and scan them!  Trust me, it will be entertaining.:)

I wonder if you’re my sister Mandakini Margaret Baba’s age — she has the same picture of herself wearing his Mr. Potato Head glasses :-) You two are similar ages in the pictures…

You look like your own mother and Tori looks just like you. My husband did a similar scanning job with our thousands of slides a couple of years ago. We now have complete folios of all the cars we have owned, every house we have lived in for over 50 years and even a dozen or more prom photos. Nice memories every one! Shaz in Surprise, AZ.

My parents have a ton of them. My mom lived in Germany before she met my Dad and I have loved looking at those through the years. I think my Dad got a lot of his printed too.
