I’m not old enough to have a teenager!

I am, in fact, now the mother of a teenager.  Where did the past 13 years go?  It seems like I was just bringing her home from the hospital.

We spent her birthday shopping around town – just the two of us.  I let her take her time, which normally doesn’t happen when the other kids are with us.  We didn’t buy much, but it was the browsing that was fun.

Andy and the kids made a cake while we were gone.  Since Ellie currently wants to be a forensic scientist (she’s been watching too many crime shows I guess), we decided to decorate her cake like this…

The other kids were having a very hard time waiting to get a piece…

Happy Birthday to my sweet daughter!!:)

What a creative cake! love the “crime scene” frosting.
Ellie is indeed a lovely girl. So glad you 2 had a day to just be together and shop around.
Pix of the other 3 tickle me. The forks or napkins must have been near by ready for a piece of cake.lol

Haha I love the looks on their faces like how much longer do we have to wait!

Aww, that cake is funny! Happy Birthday to your sweetie! They grow up WAY too fast. You’re too young for a teenager…I’m too young to have my daughter turning 20 this year!
