I have always wanted to take a picture of lightning, but frankly it scares me.
I’m not one of those crazy people who could be a stormchaser, out in the elements. Wishing for a tornado.
I enjoy lightning from the comfort and safety of my home.
And I do truly enjoy a good thunderstorm.
We’ve been having one pretty regularly each evening this past week, so tonight I decided to finally try to get a picture of lightning.
I started a few steps out my back door and caught this shot right away.
That’s when I jumped inside and set my tripod up in my bedroom. I took this one through my window…
Then the storm moved and my neighbors roof was in the way. I got a whole bunch more minor strikes that weren’t very exciting.
I bet my husband is groaning now, because he knows I’m going to be pulling out the camera each time we have a storm.
FYI. I was using a 35mm lens and a tripod. ISO 400, F22, 15 second exposure.
