Our Travels: At the Boat Launch

The beaches near my parents’ home are not sandy.  You would never throw down a towel and do some sun-bathing on them.  Although, I did swim there growing up.  Barnacles, jellyfish, crabs, and all.

I took my kids down the boat launch to do some exploring and see what they could find.

This little guy as my favorite.  I love that he’s green.

My kids are so much braver than me.  I have no desire to pick up little crabs. They’re neat to watch though.I really miss the madrone trees.  Isn’t it interesting the way that the bark peels off of them?  I would sit and peel the trees when I was a kid.  Weird, I know.  They are so nice and smooth underneath though.Look at all of the barnacles on the beach.  You definitely need long jeans and close-toed shoes.
