I’m always a little bit sad that we don’t have a pet dog.
We have lizards and a fish. They aren’t furry and they don’t retrieve a tennis ball.
The kids had such a good time hanging out with dogs for a couple of weeks. They played catch and went for walks.
I know that many military families have dogs. We’ve just decided not to get one until we are settled down permanently with some acreage.
The moving and traveling and small yards on post are not conducive to dogs in my opinion. But then again, I grew up in the woods where our dogs roamed around free. I have a hard time trying to contain them in a yard and I’m not really an inside-dog person. Someday, we’ll have a dog or two.
