My daughter and I have both read Twilight. And yes, we drove through Forks (there really isn’t much to see there!) and yes we went out to La Push. 
My husband, making fun of my daughter. Vampires at La Push? Of course not! He has fun being a dad.
We did NOT actually stop in Forks. There really isn’t anything to see. It’s just like many other small towns on the Peninsula. We did notice that there were “Twilight Tours” available. Not sure what on earth they would show.
I believe that they take a tour of the town and show where the school and houses are. I had a friend take her sister on it, but I don’t exactly remember.
