Last year, I did the impossible (or what I thought was impossible). I completed a marathon – the Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range.

I didn’t break any records. I didn’t even run it.
But I finished and I actually came in at the very middle of the pack at 7 hours and 55 minutes.

It was such a great experience, that I’ve decided that I want to do it again.

I have to come up with a new goal though. Something beyond just finishing it. Maybe finishing it WITH my husband (he was on kid-wrangling duty last time). Or beating my time from last year. What do you think?
Whatever the goal, one thing is for certain. I have to start training again. Let it begin…

I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. I plan on doing this maybe in 2014 if we PCS to where I think we will be PCSing next year. My previous AF Reserve unit’s lineage traces back to having several Airmen who were part of the REAL death march and I think it would be a fitting tribute.
You should come out and do it. You can stay here.
(I won’t do it again, but you certainly can do it!)
