We have always homeschooled the kids. It was a decision we made when I was pregnant with our first.
And although I have my days where I wish that I could drop them off for a few hours at the school down the street, it is a decision which I am glad we made.
They can learn at their own pace. We have extra time to spend together. We can take vacations anytime we want. They can spend extra time on things they enjoy. They are able to do a lot of “extra-curricular” activities.
If I had to define our schooling style, I would have to say that we are classically eclectic with a touch of Charlotte Mason. We make changes in our school as needed, depending on what is working at the time. That is the beauty of homeschooling.
We are currently using Tapestry of Grace, Teaching Textbooks, Apologia Science, Easy Grammar, and Artistic Pursuits.
Want to see our school room? Here it is. And here you can see our room from our previous house. We move around a lot.
Here is our current read-aloud list for the 2010-2011 school year. And here is my reading list. I like to read too.![]()
