I love Monterey. If I were wealthy, I might consider retiring there. But I’m not. So I’ll have to be content with the 5 years the military paid for me to live there.![]()
My first time living in Monterey was when I was in the Air Force, attending DLI for Russian. I got a different viewpoint of the area since I didn’t have a car at the time. Most of my traveling was done on my own two feet.
Years later, my husband got stationed at DLI and we spent 4 wonderful years in the area. I’m still hoping that we might pull one more tour there before he retires. A girl can dream, right?
Unfortunately, I don’t have many posts or pictures about this area. I was just starting my blog and I took horrendous pictures. I still wanted to include it a page on it though, because it holds such a special place in my heart.
Reasons I love the Monterey Peninsula…..
- the smell of the ocean
- the sound of the sea gulls and sea lions
- being surrounded by water
- tidepools
- the aqauarium
